How we fry

Everything you've ever wanted to ask a chippy.

Got an allergy? Ring us before you order and we'll talk you through it.

What oil do you fry in?

Beef dripping, the traditional Yorkshire way. It gives a crisp batter and that proper chippy taste. Veggie patties, and chips on request, go in a separate fryer with rapeseed oil.

How often do you change the dripping?

It's filtered every night and changed completely twice a week.

Where does your fish come from?

Haddock and cod from the North Atlantic, bought fresh through Hull. Line-caught where possible.

What's in a Hull pattie?

Mashed potato with sage and onion, dipped in batter and fried. We make ours fresh every morning.

Are your chips fresh?

Yes. We peel and cut the potatoes on site every morning, blanch them, then fry them to order.

Do you do gluten-free?

Gluten-free batter on Tuesdays, cooked separately. Ring ahead so we can have the fryer ready.

How long does delivery take?

Collection is about 15 minutes. Delivery takes 30 to 45 minutes within 3 miles, for £2.50.
